Clinical Significance
T3 Uptake (REFL) - Decreased: Pregnancy, estrogens, hyperproteinemia, acute intermittent porphyria.
Increased: Androgens, hyperproteinemia, stress, acute liver disease.
This assay is a measure of available thyroid hormone binding sites and should be interpreted with thyroxine levels.
